WREATHS ACROSS AMERICA: Niles will host a Wreaths Across America wreath-laying ceremony at noon Saturday at Niles City Cemetery off Niles Cortland Road. Niles is joining more than 2,200 other locations across the country for National Wreaths Across America Day. Sponsorship groups have raised funds throughout the year to sponsor the placement of approximately 1,212 veteran's wreaths on the headstones of fallen service members laid to rest there. The laying of the wreaths will start at the conclusion of the ceremony.
• Girard American Legion Post 235 and Blackstone Funeral Home are joining together for Wreaths Across America ceremony at noon Saturday at Girard City Cemetery. This is the fifth year for the local ceremony.
There are 1,100 veterans buried at Girard Cemetery with wreaths to be placed on each grave. To purchase a wreath, make checks to Wreaths Across America and mail to Blackstone Funeral Home, 672 Churchill Road, Girard, 44420. Each wreath is $17. Visit wreathsacrossamerica.org.
SANTA COMES TO TOWN: Warren Township will host "Santa Claus is coming to Town" at 5 p.m. Wednesday at the Johnson Community Center, 800 Gillmer Road. Santa will arrive by firetruck. There will be refreshments.
BINGO AND RAFFLE: The 44444 the People in Newton Falls will host a Christmas bingo and basket raffle 2 p.m. Saturday at the The Sun Spot, 737 Ridge Road, Newton Falls.
There will be bingo for cash or prizes. There will be more than 100 baskets, toys, tools and gift cards.

FREE DINNER: The 44444 the People in Newton Falls will host a free community turkey dinner 5 to 7 p.m. Friday until dinners are gone at the Sun Spot, the former St. Michael's Church, 757 Ridge Road.
WRAPPING PARTY: The McKinley Memorial Library in Niles will host a wrap and yap party 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday at the McKinley Birthplace Home in Niles. Those attending can bring their gift to wrap and enjoy music and snacks. Registration is required by calling 330-6520-1704, Ext. 3.
WINTER WONDERLAND: The Brookfield Library Branch will offer a Winter Wonderland open house from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday. There will be gingerbread houses, crafts and music and holiday performance by Brookfield High School students at 6 p.m.
CHRISTMAS CONCERT: The National McKinley Birthplace Memorial Museum will host a Christmas concert 6 to 7:30 p.m. Friday at the museum. The Valley Senior Choir will sing holiday songs.
DOLL DISPLAY: A collection of wooden doll toys is on display at the the Bristol Public Library. The antique collection is owned by Bloomfield resident Judith Sheridan. The display is located on the second floor of the library and will be shown through the end of the year.
FRIENDS PARTY: The Friends of the Girard Free Library will host a holiday party 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday in the community room. Friends members will mingle with potential new members and discuss events planned for the upcoming year. There will be seasonal refreshments, an appetizer and a basket raffle. Membership is $5. Forms are available at the library.
The Friends of the Girard Free Library are involved with such events as book sales, the St. Patrick's Day scavenger hunt, summer reading program, back to school community day and Halloween celebration.
The group supports the library staff with events and fundraising efforts. The Friends meet at the library, 105 E. Prospect St., 6 p.m. on the second Thursday of each month.
COOKIE DECORATING: The Liberty Library Branch, 415 Churchill-Hubbard Road, will host a cookie decorating event 2:30 p.m. Thursday for teens in grades seven to 12. Holiday music will be performed at 6 p.m. Tuesday with guitarist Tyler Guerrieri and vocalist Rhonda Monroe, the branch manager.
HOLIDAY MUSIC: The Liberty High School choir will perform holiday music at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Liberty Library Branch, 415 Churchill Hubbard Road. The choir, under the direction of Donna Popio, will sing a variety of holiday favorites. The free event includes refreshments.
LUNCHEON SET: The Girard Multi-Generational Center will offer a Kris Kringle potluck luncheon noon to 2 p.m. Tuesday. Those attending are asked to bring a dish to share. Reservations are needed by calling 330-545-6796.
RED KETTLE: Hubbard Christians in Action is hosting a red kettle drive to raise funds for the Hubbard Salvation Army Unit.
The funds will remain in the Hubbard area. HCIA will ring the bell every weekend at different locations in December.
