CORTLAND CHRISTMAS: The Cortland Library Branch, 578 Lakeview Drive, will offer a Cortland Christmas at 6 p.m. Thursday. There will be children's crafts and music provided by Tyler Guerrieri and vocalist Nick Kerpsack. Cookies and punch will be served. The event is hosted by the Friends of the Cortland Library.
SANTA TO ARRIVE: Santa Claus will arrive at 6 p.m. today at the Girard Free Library. There will be cookie decorating, festive photo opportunities and other activities.
ASSOCIATION TO MEET: The Northwest Neighborhood Association will meet 6:30 p.m. today at Grace Methodist Church, Drexel Avenue NW. The speaker is Trumbull County Probate Court Judge James Fredericka. Those attending are asked to bring a nonperishable item for the church food pantry.
WINTERFEST DANCE: The 20th annual Special Needs Winterfest Dance will be held 4:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Ciminero's Banquet Centre, Niles. There will be a Snow Princess and Snow Prince crowned and a drawing held for the dance court, with names randomly drawn from each school's tickets. Santa, Mrs. Claus and elves will be there for photos with students. Dinner is included. Semi-formal dress preferred.

HANUKKAH STORY NIGHT: The McKinley Memorial in Niles will hold Hanukkah celebration a bit early this year with a special storytime at 6 p.m. today. Children of all ages are welcome to listen to a story and make a craft. All supplies will be provided. Registration is required at 330-652-1704, Ext. 4.
CHRISTMAS OF REMEMBRANCE: The Catholic Funeral and Cemetery Services of the Diocese of Youngstown will hold the third annual Christmas of Remembrance at 6 p.m. today at Calvary Cemetery in Youngstown, Resurrection Cemetery in Austintown, and All Souls Cemetery in Cortland. Doors open at 5 p.m. for registration, refreshments and ornament decorating. There will be a prayer service at 6 p.m. and hanging of the ornaments. For questions call 330-792-4721.
CANDYLAND: The Vienna United Methodist Church will host a life-sized Candyland 2 to 8 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, with a visit from Santa Claus at 10 a.m., and noon to 7 p.m. Sunday.
CANDYLAND: Candy Land Lane will be offered from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday at the Warren Library. Families with young children can walk and play on the indoor Candy Land Lane. There will be multiple activity stations targeting different skills, giveaway bags for the children with a book and other activities, and colorful decorations based on the Candy Land game. The event is held in conjunction with Warren's Hometown Holidays.
CHRISTMAS CONCERT: The Cortland Community Band will present a free Christmas concert 7 p.m. Wednesday in the Fellowship Hall of Grace Methodist Church, 1725 Drexel NW. The hour-long concert will feature Christmas favorites and will be followed by cookies and coffee / punch time. Everyone is invited to enjoy this event. The church is handicapped accessible on the office side of the church.
HOWLAND CELEBRATING: Happy Howland Holiday will be held 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Howland Library, 9095 East Market Street. The event will include holiday crafts, a musical performance and visit from Santa. Musical performance and refreshments are courtesy of the Friends of the Howland Library. Santa arrives at 7 p.m.
Vocalist Amanda Beagle (a professional singer, voice teacher and former Miss Ohio from Howland) will perform holiday favorites and lead a family-friendly sing-a-long at 6:30 p.m.
HOLIDAY MOVIE NIGHT: Brookfield Library Branch will host a holiday movie matinee, "Miracle on 34th Street," 1 to 3 p.m. Wednesday.
COOKIE TABLES: The McKinley Birthplace Home in Niles will hold the program, Cookie Table: A Steel Valley Tradition, 2 to 3 p.m. Saturday. Author and cookie table enthusiast Alice Crosetto will explain how the beloved Steel Valley tradition started and its popularity exploded, Registration is needed at 330-652-1704, Ext. 3.
GINGERGREAD WORKSHOP: The McKinley Memorial Library in Niles will offer a family gingerbread house workshop at 10:30 a.m. Saturday. Gingerbread architects of all skill levels are invited to build a gingerbread house. The program is for families. Adults are welcome to attend the 6 p.m. session Monday, Dec. 11. Use the supplies provided or bring your own. Registration is required at 330-652-1704, Ext. 4.
MASONIC TEMPLE PARTY: The Temple Board of the Liberty Masonic Complex, Shannon Road, Girard, will hold a temple-wide Christmas party for the organizations meeting at the complex. The party will be held 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday. There will be different activities and a visit from Santa Claus.
