HOLIDAYS IN CORTLAND: Holidays in Cortland will be 3 to 7 p.m. today along West Main Street with various events and festivities. The event is taking place on Small Business Saturday. Activities taking place in the courtyard / green area and large parking lot on West Main Street across from the old Cortland Bank are free horse-drawn carriage ride; 4 to 6 p.m. visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus; 5 p.m. ugly sweater contest and ornament making and other crafts for children; and 6 p.m. tree lighting. People can bring an ornament to hang on the community Christmas tree. There will be complimentary hot cocoa, hot cider and assorted cookies sponsored by Just Pizzelles. Students of the Lakeview High School choir/band will lead guests in caroling.
CHRISTMAS IN VILLAGE: McDonald Village will host Christmas in the Village at 6:30 p.m. today by the municipal building. There will be a tree lighting, cookies, crafts and Santa Claus.
CHRISTMAS LIGHTS: Newton Falls will have the water tower and water falls lit for the holiday celebration 6 to 8 p.m. today. The Christmas tree will be lit at 7 p.m. in the downtown area. Storefronts will be opened and decorated for the holidays.
