MCKINLEY CHRISTMAS: The 11th annual McKinley Christmas will be noon to 4 p.m. Saturday in Niles, with various festivities and stops at the McKinley Birthplace Home, National McKinley Birthplace Memorial Museum, Ward Thomas House and the Von Isley Estate. Refreshments and holiday activities will take place at each location,
There will be free bus transportation between locations. Those who visit all four locations and donate one box of cereal for Niles Community Services will be entered into a drawing to win a Giant Eagle gift card prize basket.
TREE LIGHTING: The Niles Lions Club annual tree lighting ceremony is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. today at the Niles Safety-Service Complex. Santa Claus will arrive by fire truck to visit with children. There will be refreshments, musical performances and the tree lighting.
ST. JOSEPH FESTIVAL OF TREES: The St. Joseph Hospital Festival of Trees is taking place 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday through Dec. 10. The winners of the drawings will be announced at noon Dec. 8. Proceeds from the show benefit the St. Joseph Mission Fund, which supports various hospital and community projects.
WELLNESS ON WHEELS: The Warren City Health District's Wellness on Wheels mobile health unit will visit 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Tuesday at Trumbull Homes, 1970 Hazelwood Ave. SE, Warren.
The Wellness on Wheels mobile unit has visited every neighborhood in the city of Warren and continues providing health and health education services to city residents. For questions, call 330-841-2596.
LAWN MOWER MAINTENANCE: The Girard Robocats will host a lawn mower winterization event Saturday at the Girard High School back parking lot. Dropoff is from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Cost is $55 for cleaning, power washing, changing oil, sharpening and balancing blades, filling gas tank and adding stabilizer. Pickup and delivery is available for $70. For pickup Friday and delivery on Sunday, call 330-545-5431, ext. 130 to schedule. Proceeds benefit the Girard High School Aptiv FIRST Robotics and Girard Intermediate School LEGO League teams.
CHESS CLUB: McKinley Memorial Library in Niles is hosting the Chess Club 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday.
This program will take place in the library on the fourth Tuesday of every month. Participants should bring their own chess set or can use one from the library. Lessons will not be provided.
TOY DRIVE: The Niles McKinley Library and Memorial Museum is partnering with Niles Community Services to collect new toys, puzzles and books for children ages birth to 13. Donations should be unopened and unwrapped. Donations may be dropped off at the library or at Niles Community Services by Dec. 7.
WREATHS ACROSS AMERICA: A Wreaths Across America event is at noon Dec. 16 at the Niles Cemetery. Donate a wreath to honor a veteran for $17 by today. Donate at wreathsacross america.org/OH0286
