SUICIDE AWARENESS DAY: The National Survivors Of Suicide Awareness Day's 25th annual candlelight vigil will be at 6 p.m. Saturday at Good Shepherd Community Church, 4600 Eagle Creek Road, Leavittsburg. The candlelight vigil is in remembrance of Valerie Kopiak and all loved ones lost to suicide, and sponsored by the Help Network of Northeast Ohio and the Survivors of Suicide Support Group. 4H OPEN HOUSE: Trumbull County 4-H will host a free kickoff event 6 to 7:30 p.m. today at the Trumbull Career and Technical Center. The ninth annual event will include informational displays and tables on the various 4-H programs. The 4-H enrollment deadline is April 1.
FOOD / TOY PROGRAM: Niles Community Services is taking Christmas applications for residents of Niles, Mineral Ridge and McDonald from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday at the offices, 401 Vienna Ave. Niles. Those signing up are asked to bring photo identification, proof of residency, income verification and medical cards for children. For information, call 330-652-6412.
TREE LIGHTING: The Lordstown Village Christmas tree lighting will be at 6 p.m. Friday in the park by the fire department off Salt Springs Road. There will be refreshments inside the fire station. Children can visit with Santa Claus.
SENATOR DISCUSSED: Joseph Lambert Jr. will discuss the evolution of David Tod's political beliefs during a program 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the auditorium of the National McKinley Birthplace Memorial Museum in Niles.
Born to a politically active family in the Western Reserve, Tod served as a lawyer and postmaster before becoming a senator in 1838. During the Civil War, recently elected Ohio governor David Tod shed his Democratic loyalty to support the Union cause.
There will be a book signing after the presentation.
MRS. CLAUS' CLOSET: Circle of Faith ladies group of Farmington Community Church, 240 W. College St., West Farmington, will host Mrs. Claus' Closet at 6 p.m. on Thursday. There will be demonstrations, snacks and a silent auction. There is a $5 admission charge.
TCGS TO MEET: The Trumbull County Genealogical Society will meet at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Garfield Room of the Warren-Trumbull County Public Library, 444 Mahoning Ave. NW, Warren. This is a change of venue.
Keith Bowers will speak about the Ancestry.com "leaves" and how DNA affects searches. All meetings are free and open to the public.

STORYTIME AND MOVIES: McKinley Memorial Library in Niles invites caregivers and their children, newborns up to 4 years, to attend storytime to encourage a love of reading with stories, songs and crafts at 2 p.m. on Tuesdays. Each week will feature a different theme.
HEALTH CLINICS: The Warren City Health District will offer two public health clinics this week.
A children's vaccine clinic will be offered for persons who do not have private insurance or insurance that covers vaccines. There is an administration fee.
The clinic will take place 9 to 11 a.m. and 1 to 3 p.m. today at the health district, 258 E. Market St., Warren (downtown). No appointment is necessary. Bring your child's updated shot records.
The updated COVID-19 vaccine is available at the health district for those who are eligible for the new Bridge Access Program, which was recently launched by the CDC. Contact the district to see if you are eligible for this program before coming to a vaccine clinic at 330-841-2596.
MOBILE FOOD MARKET: Trumbull Regional Medical Center will host the first Mobile Food Market in Trumbull County in partnership with the Trumbull Regional medical staff, ACTION, and SERVPRO 3 to 5 p.m. Tuesday in the upper lot of the hospital. Free health screenings also will be provided.
