PUMPKIN WALK: The McKinley Memorial Library in Niles will host the fourth annual Halloween Party and Pumpkin Walk 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday at the National McKinley Birthplace Memorial Museum.
There will be a pumpkin walk, along with cider and cookies, on the memorial grounds, and spooky stories and activities will take place in the library. Trick or treating will take place in the National McKinley Birthplace Memorial Museum. This event is sponsored by the Friends of the Library and local organizations and businesses.
ISSUE 1: New Life Christian Fellowship, 2088 Tibbets Wick Road, Girard, will host an Issue 1 town hall 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday. Guest speaker is attorney David Engler, who will explain the legal implications of the Right to Reproductive Freedom ballot initiative and answer questions.
WINTER CLOTHING DRIVE: Champion Pride Council is hosting a winter clothing drive through Sunday. The council is collecting new or gently worn clothing such as leggings, jeans, sweatshirts and athletic pants. Also needed are warm hats, coats, jackets, gloves and mittens. Distribution of items will be 9 to 11 a.m. Oct. 28 at the PK-8 cafeteria. Donation locations are the Champion fire station, Champion schools, Champion police department and the Trumbull Career and Technical Center.
CHAMPION ALUMNI: The Champion Alumni Hall of Fame induction will be at noon Nov. 4 at Champion High School. Lunch will be served prior to the induction ceremony at a cost of $20 for adults, $10 for school-age children and no charge for children under 5.
TEEN SCENE: Teens ages 12 to 18 are invited to enjoy different activities each week from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Thursdays at the McKinley Birthplace Home in Niles.
On Thursday, read one or both of this year's Trumbull County Reads books, "Kent State" by Deborah Wiles or "Anthem" by Deborah Wiles, and come discuss them.
On Oct. 26, teens can create their own blackout poems using a classic text and permanent marker.

RUMMAGE / ANTIQUE SALE: St. Thomas the Apostle Parish in Vienna will host its annual Rummage and Antique Sale beginning with a presale 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday with a $5 admission fee. The sale also will run 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday with free admission. Half-price day is 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday with free admission. Everything that day is half-price, except books that will be $1 a bag.
FALL FESTIVAL: Girard Free Library will offer an outdoor fall festival 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. There will be pumpkin painting, games and photos for children up to age 12. Registration is required.
MEET THE CANDIDATES: Liberty High School Student Government will host a Meet the Candidate event at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the high school auditorium.
Candidates running for Liberty Board of Education, trustees and fiscal officer have been invited.
LIBRARY BOOK SALE: The Friends of the Hubbard Library will host a fall book sale 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Proceeds help the friends get items for the library and also supports its programs and events.
GIRARD LEAF COLLECTION: The city is offering paper lawn bags for the annual leaf collection. Leaves raked to the street will not be picked up. Bags are available to residents with identification with the first five bags provided at no cost. If additional bags are needed, they can be purchased at five bags for $1.
