Safe Halloween events planned

BRACEVILLE TRUNK OR TREAT: Braceville Christian Church, 4387 Church St. SW, located near township hall, will hold Trunk-or-Treat event 5 to 7 p.m. today in the church parking lot.

SOUTHINGTON TRUNK OR TREAT: Trunk or Treat will be 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Southington Township center gazebo. Ernie the Eagle and Olivia the Owl will meet with children.

FUNDRAISER SET: A fundraiser to benefit Debbie Wilson Yuhas will be 2 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Niles Sons of Italy. Yuhas is battling acute myeloid leukemia with all funds to help her offset medical expenses as she receives treatment. Doors open at noon. Activities planned are two-man bocce tournament, Chinese auction, bake sale, games, 50-50 raffle and Ohio State University block pool. For information call 330-240-8891.

FUNDRAISER HELPS ACCIDENT VICTIM: A benefit event to help Cyndi (Fox) Cooper will be 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the VFW in Hubbard, 710 W. Liberty St., Cooper is in need of a knee procedure to correct injuries sustained in a severe car accident in 2022. The procedure a series of four treatments not covered by insurance.

RUMMAGE SALE: Orwell United Methodist Church, 80 South Maple, Orwell, is hosting a Rummage Sale 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday and Friday; and 9 a.m. to noon Saturday (bag day), in the church basement. For information, leave a message at 440-437-8225.

HOLIDAY FUNDRAISER: First Presbyterian Women's Group will hold a Holiday Sale Fundraiser, with more than 200 gift baskets for sale from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at First Presbyterian Church of Sharon, 600 E. State St., Sharon, Pa.

VIENNA COFFEE WITH COP: Vienna Police Department hosts Coffee with a Cop 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at Twisted Peacock Coffee Shop, 888 Youngstown Kingsville Road.

NATIONAL ADOPTION DAY: In recognition of National Adoption Month, an adoption event for families will be held at 9 a.m. Friday at Trumbull County Probate Court, 161 High St., Warren. Those planning to attend are asked to call Patricia at 330-675-2521.

CHAMPION HOF: Champion School's Hall of Fame induction and luncheon will be held at noon Saturday at the high school. Inductees are: Gene Cheredar and Cheryl Weaver, Sports Hall of Fame; and Dolores McQuiney Flower, Phillip Rodzen, Marilyn Williams Rauser and Ralph Lee Tranter Jr., Distinguished Alumni Hall of Fame. CHILDREN'S MARKET DAY: Achievements of Eastern Ohio in partnership with the Eastwood Mall will host a one-day Youth Market Day noon to 3 p.m. Saturday at Eastwood Mall Family Fun Day in the center concourse. The event will feature young entrepreneur who will offer their innovative products and services for sale to the public.

THANKSGIVING SIGNUPS: The Emmanuel Community Care Center, 2 N. State St., Girard, is taking signups for families for Thanksgiving assistance. Those who are registered at the center and wish to receive the assistance may call 330-545-4301. Gift cards will be provided to families to get items. Anyone wishing to make monetary donations or gift cards can call the center. Donations are needed by Nov. 10.

GIVING TREE PROJECT: Legacy Events, a local company, will hold a craft and vendor show Saturday at Brookfield fire hall to assist the Giving Tree project, intended to help needy local children at Christmas. Names will be gathered anonymously from local schools. Proceeds from a silent auction will go to the tree. Items will be distributed to schools no later than December 9.
