FALL FEST / TRUNK OR TREAT: HCC Learning Center, 198 Niles Cortland Road SE, Warren, is hosting its second annual Community Fall Fest / Trunk or Treat from 6 to 7:30 p.m. today.
KIWANIS CAKEWALK: Newton Falls Kiwanis announces its 97th Cakewalk to be held at 2 p.m. Saturday on Broad Street.
At approximately 1:45 p.m., costume contest participants will be called by age group to the center of the (closed) road for judging. Businesses, local residents and groups have donated cash and gift certificate prizes for kids and adults.
Creative homemade costumes are encouraged in all age groups. Prizes will be given for the most patriotic adults and children.
The high school band is expected to perform, then the cakewalk will begin. Tickets will be sold to go through the arches of the cakewalk parade circle. Because of continuing COVID-19 and safety concerns, Kiwanis is buying the cakes this year from local grocers. Profits from ticket sales will go toward youth programs.
In case the weather is too severe for everyone's safety, Kiwanis will notify the school, which will announce changes on its social media page.
PARADES IN NILES, WARREN: Halloween parades will be held Sunday in Niles and Warren.
The Niles parade will line up at Niles McKinley High School and begin at 1 p.m. traveling from the high school to Main Street to the viaduct.
The Warren parade will be held at 3 p.m. and travel Mahoning Avenue to Market Street Extension and then East Market Street to Vine Avenue to High Street to disband on Harmon Avenue.
PUMPKIN PATCH: A Pumpkin Patch storytime will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Chalker Building in Southington.
HALLOWEEN PARTY: The Newton Falls SCOPE Senior Center Halloween party will be held 1 to 3 p.m. today at the village municipal building. There will be a costume contest, prizes and snacks.
CEMETERY TOUR: A Trumbull County Historical Society Walking Tour of Oakwood Cemetery will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, beginning at the gatehouse of Oakwood Cemetery, 860 Niles Road SE, Warren.

TALK TO A TRUSTEE: Brookfield Township will hold a Talk to a Trustee from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at the Brookfield Library.
TRI-COUNTY HEART BALL: The American Heart Association will host its annual Heart of Tri-County Heart Ball on Thursday at the Eastwood Event Centre in Niles. The signature sponsors of this year's ball are Premier Bank and the Cafaro Foundation.
Co-chairs of this year's Heart Ball are Mark Mediate of Premier Bank and Lisa Mariotti of Grainger.
It will be hosted by WFMJ's Derek Steyer. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. with a cocktail hour and silent auction. A formal dinner and program will begin at 7 p.m. followed by a live auction and Open Your Heart special appeal.
