GOOD DEEDS PROGRAM: Trumbull County residents with questions about preparing assets to pass down to loved ones soon will have help through a program made available through several county offices.
The Trumbull County Recorder, Clerk of Courts and Trumbull County Probate Court are offering a Good Deeds program. The free program takes about an hour. It is open to Trumbull County residents. It consists of presentations discussing these topics: real estate, motor vehicles, boats, mobile homes, bank accounts, life insurance, investments and wills. The first Good Deed community presentation is set for 6:30 p.m. Thursday at St. Demetrios Community Center in Warren.
PURSE BINGO: St. Rose Mount Carmel Society will host a purse bingo at 6 p.m. Saturday at St. Rose School gymnasium. Doors open at 5 p.m. Cost is $25 per person; tickets are available at the church rectory and at the door the night of the event. There will be a basket raffle, 50-50 raffle and lottery tree. Bingo participants should bring their own daubers. Twenty bingo games will be played.
POOL 'PAWTY': The Jewish Community Center will host a Pool "Pawty" for dogs to splash in the swimming pool at the Logan Campus, 3245 Logan Ave., Liberty. Smaller dogs will swim from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday. Big dogs will swim from 10:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Saturday. Cost is $5 per family or a donation to the Animal Welfare League. SOCIETY TO MEET: The Hubbard Historical Society will meet 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the Hubbard city administration building, 220 W. Liberty St. A brief business meeting will take place, followed by the program given by Mahoning Valley author and speaker Sean Posey, who will discuss Hubbard's history. The society welcomes new members. Dues are $10 per person per year.
HUNTING LOTTERY: Trumbull County Metroparks will host lottery for the 2023-24 hunting season at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the park office, 3958 N. River Road NE, Howland. Hunters need not attend in person.
CHILI COOKOFF MEETING: The Vienna Neighborhood Watch will meet at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at Candywood to discuss the annual chili cookoff.
FRIENDLY SQUARES: The Friendly Squares will host their 13th anniversary celebration at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the Niles SCOPE Center, 14 E. State St. Dress is casual. A new year of square dancing will be 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesdays starting Sept. 12. Free lessons will be provided. Fee is $5 per person. For information, call 330-506-3370.
AUXILIARY HELP: The Brookfield Fire Department is seeking volunteers for community service. The auxiliary works with first responders and meets at 5:30 p.m. the first and third Tuesdays of each month at the fire hall on state Route 7. The next one is Tuesday.
