Event invites prior Braceville students

BRACEVILLE ALUMNI FUN DAY: The Braceville Alumni Family Fun Day will be noon Sunday at Braceville Center. The event will include food trucks. Anyone who attended Braceville during any of their school years is invited, along with their families. The event also will feature an open house at the Braceville Historical Society. Guests are asked to bring a lawn chair.

FOOD TRUCK FRIDAY: The Howland Food Truck Friday will be 6 to 9 p.m. today, rain or shine, at the Richard Orwig Park, 8189 E. Market St. Those attending can bring a lawn chair to listen to the Conkle Brothers perform live.

MEMORIAL GOLF OUTING: The second annual Gary Gutelius Memorial Gold Outing will be 8:30 a.m. Sept. 22 at the Old Avalon Golf Course. Proceeds from the event, sponsored by Warren Post 1090, will benefit the Military Order of Purple Heart and the Gary Gutelius Memorial Scholarship. The cost is $85 per person and $340 per team. HALFWAY THERE: The Howland Historical Society will host a traditional Irish breakfast and celebration of half way to St. Patrick’s Day 8 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Howland Community Church. Reservations are required at 330-502-5098.

TRUNK SALE: The Unity Spiritual Centre, 1126 Naylor Lloyd Road, Liberty, will host a trunk sale 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. The event is free to the public. There will be vendors, food and a 50-50 raffle. For questions contact the center at 330-539-0122.

BICYCLING EVENT: Bicyclists from across northeast Ohio and eastern Pennsylvania will be riding throughout Trumbull County on Sunday. The event is being sponsored by the Out-Spokin Wheelmen, which is celebrating 50 years. Registration begins at 7 a.m. at Trumbull County Fairgrounds banquet center. Registration fee is $35. Cyclists are welcome to pedal at their own pace and can choose different routes. For information, call 330-550-3621.

BALLROOM WEEK: USA Dance Club, Youngstown-Warren Chapter, is celebrating National Ballroom Week with a dance party celebration 5 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Avon Oaks Ballroom, 1401 N. State St., Girard. The cost is $10 at the door.

HARDING PARK CELEBRATION: A parade, commemoration ceremony and music are planned for 1 p.m. Saturday to observe the 100 years of public recreation celebration at Harding Park in Hubbard.

RUMMAGE SALE: TNR of Warren is sponsoring a fundraising rummage sale 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at 379 Folsom St., Champion. All money raised from the event goes to support TNR’s efforts to help low-income families and community cat managers spay and neuter cats, and provide free dog and cat food for community cats and to those in need.

WASTE COLLECTION AVAILABLE: The Geauga-Trumbull Solid Waste Management District is offering collection of household hazardous waste at the Trumbull Collection Facility, 5138 Enterprise Drive, Warren, for residents of the two counties.

Hours of operation at the facility are 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesdays for electronics and appliances only; Wednesdays for household hazardous waste, electronics and appliances; and 9 a.m. to noon on special waste Saturdays.

SCRAP-TIRE COLLECTION: Liberty will hold its annual scrap tire collection 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the township administration building, 1315 Churchill Hubbard Road. No tires will be accepted before or after the dates.

There is a limit of eight tires per residence. Tires must be off rims. Passenger car and light truck tires only.

HOWLAND REUNION: Howland High School Classes of 1982, 1983 and 1984 have planned a triple class reunion Oct. 4, 5, 6 and 7.

On Oct. 6, there will be a tour of the Howland School at 5:30 p.m., followed by a meet and greet at Leon’s on state Route 46.

Events Oct. 7 start at 3:30 p.m. at Maffits Meadows for dinner, music and dancing and chance. A class photo will be taken and classmates will participate in an auction.

There also will be a farewell breakfast 10 a.m. Sunday at Eat-n-Park.
