LORDSTOWN APPLE CIDER FEST: The Lordstown Apple Cider Festival will be Friday to Sunday at the Lordstown school grounds, corner of state Route 45 and Salt Springs Road. The rides and other activities are 6 p.m. to midnight Friday, noon to midnight Saturday and noon to 9 p.m. Sunday. A car show is 1 to 4 p.m., the prince and princess pageant is at 2 p.m. and fireworks are at 10 p.m., all on Saturday. There is a 5K race at 10 a.m. Sunday and a parade with grand marshal fire Chief Travis Eastham at 3 p.m. Sunday. There will also be a craft show, games and food.
RAILROAD BREAKFAST MEETING: All railroaders are invited to a breakfast meeting at 11 a.m. Thursday at EJ's Restaurant, Chester, W.Va. Any questions, contact Rocco at 330-853-3045.
VOTER REGISTRATION: To celebrate National Voter Registration Day, Trumbull Neighborhood Partnership has partnered with Common Cause Ohio, Grace AME Church and National Voter Registration to host voter registration 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday at Grace AME Church, 1137 Main St. SW, Warren.
ESSENTIAL OILS: The McKinley Memorial Library in Niles will host a program "Essential Oils for Sleep" 2 to 3 p.m. Saturday at the McKinley Birthplace Home. Janet Agueda of Making Scents Studio in Niles will discuss the connection between scent and sleep. She will teach participants how to make their own pillow spray. FILL THE CRUISER: Sharing His Immense Love with Neighbors Everywhere will host a fill-the-cruiser event 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at DeVine's Shop 'N Save in Hubbard. St. Patrick Parish students in grades kindergarten to eighth will collect food donations to help the St. Patrick food pantry. Parents / guardians can contact Lisa at 330-729-2428 to sign a child up for the event.
TRAIN SHOW: The National McKinley Birthplace Museum will host an all-gauge model train show 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. All collectors, buyers and sellers are welcome. Admission is $5, and children under 12 are free. Visitors also can tour the museum. For questions, call Belinda at 330-652-4273.
GROCERY DISTRIBUTION: Deliverance Temple Church, 1849 West Ave., Warren, in conjunction with Youngstown Community Food Center- Gleaners Food Bank, will host a grocery item distribution at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the church. Those needing items are asked to bring a state issued photo identification and utility bill.
RIVER OTTERS: Girard Free Library will host a program on river otters at 6 p.m. today with guest speaker Amy Reeher, administrator with the Trumbull County Soil and Water Conservation District. She will share facts, photos and handouts.
SOCIETY HOSTS SALE: The Niles Historical Society will host a yard sale 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Ward Thomas House property, 503 Brown St., Niles. A variety of items will be sold. Proceeds from the event will benefit the historical society. The Ward Thomas House will be open noon to 2:30 p.m. with Ralph Tolbert presenting a program "A Trip through Downtown Niles in the '60s and '70s" at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. in the Westenfield Room. Baseball memorabilia from Russia Field teams donated by Gloria Theodore will be on display. Children can take part in activities at the old-fashioned game station.
FALL CLEANUP: Newton Township will host a fall cleanup, e-waste and appliance collection 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the township administration building, 4410 Newton Falls Bailey Road. Not being accepted are hazardous waste and tires. Drop off of any items after event hours is prohibited. Identification is required for proof of residency. For questions, call 330-872-0003. FIRST RESPONDERS SUPPORT: The Mental Health and Recovery Boards of Trumbull and Mahoning counties are committed to providing support to first responders in the Valley so they are hosting a free training for mental health professionals 7:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Friday, at the Trumbull Metropolitan Housing Authority.
This training is for mental health professionals and peers that are interested in working with first responders.

FOOD DISTRIBUTION: Harvest Point Church, 2121 Salt Springs Road, Lordstown, will host its monthly food pantry distribution on Wednesday. This is a drive-up event, and no identification is required.
OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD: David Zimmerman, regional director for Operation Christmas Child for the Great Lakes Region, will speak 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church, 85 W. Jefferson St., Jefferson. Project leaders and anyone interested in finding out how to participate in Operation Christmas Child is welcome to attend the workshop.
