MECCA COMMUNITY DAY: Mecca Community Day will be 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the township park. The event will include free bounce houses, slides, oversized yard games, and the entertainment of Jim Hein and Ron Stowe (True Country).
The Mecca Fire Department will serve food and a variety of craft vendors will sell their wares. Mecca Canine Search and Rescue will conduct demonstrations at 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m.
Mecca Community Church is doing its backpack giveaway, with one backpack per child and the child must be present.
CLEANING DAY: The Vienna Historical Society will hold a Copper Penny Lodge cleaning day at 2 p.m. Sunday at the society's new location at the township center.
TALK TO A TRUSTEE: Brookfield Township trustees will hold a Talk with a Trustee from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at the lot on 7317 Warren Sharon Road.
CAR AND MOTORCYCLE SHOW: Continuing Healthcare at the Ridge, 3379 Main St., Mineral Ridge, will hold a car and motorcycle show 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday. Registration is free and will be 12:30 p.m. Various awards will be presented. The rain date is 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday.
BACK TO SCHOOL GIVEAWAY: Behind Closed Doors Ministries will hold a back-to-school giveaway 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday at Harding Park in Hubbard.
LABRAE SUMMER PROGRAM: LaBrae Local School District will offer free lunches to individuals 18 and younger starting Monday. The meals are provided free through the district's participation in the federally funded Seamless Summer Option of the National School Lunch Program.
Meals will be provided 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. at the LaBrae complex cafeteria, 1001 N. Leavitt Road, Leavittsburg.

BRISTOL LIBRARY DISPLAY: The Bristol Public Library is displaying a die-cast metal race car exhibit owned by Rob Fowler of Bristol.
Fowler, owner of thousands of these cars after collecting them for more than 35 years, became interested in collecting when he saw a Hot Wheels replica. He has visited many racetracks over the years and has collected cars from each. He also is the owner of model cars of local racers Rex King and Dave Blaney.
NILES ALUMNI HALL OF FAME: The Niles McKinley Alumni Association will hold its 25th annual Hall of Fame recognition dinner Aug. 20 at Ciminero's Banquet Centre in Niles. Inductees for 2023 are Mark Bush, David (DJ) DePanicis, Ray Harper, Carrie Kibby, Robert Merlo and Dominic Santangelo. Leslie Tabor and Chuck Semple will be honored posthumously.
The dinner will include a social at 5 p.m., followed by dinner at 5:30 p.m. Cost is $35 a person. Reservations are to be made by Aug. 13 by sending a check to Nancy Jayne, 317 Cedar St., Niles, OH 44446. Paid reservations will be listed at the door the night of the dinner. FUNDRAISER: Community Concerned Citizens of Warren will hold a fundraiser meal 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Quinby Park.
WGH 1963: Warren G. Harding High School Class of 1963 is planning a 60th class reunion Aug. 4-6.
The reunion activities will begin 6 p.m. Aug. 4 with a pre-party celebration and dinner at The Peter Allen Inn and Event Center.
Classmates will gather 11 a.m. Saturday for a tour of the newly restored Robins Theatre followed by a food-truck lunch at the Kinsman House. The evening event will be at Avalon at Squaw Creek Country Club. A social hour will begin at 6 p.m. followed by dinner, entertainment and dancing.
A tour of The Medici Museum of Art is set for noon Sunday.
