STREET FESTIVAL: Girard will host a street festival Thursday to Saturday at the city municipal building grounds off Market Street. The new community event includes food concessions, DJ, live entertainment, carnival games, amusement rides, inflatables, a free petting zoo and a parade. The event is being presented by Many Hands Foundation, which is a nonprofit founded by local residents working to implement the festival as an annual summer event. Hours are 5 to 10 p.m. Thursday and Friday and noon to 10 p.m. Saturday. The parade will precede festivities Saturday. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Many Hands Foundation to continue the festival each year. The event is free. For information, call Lucia Martuccio at 330-347-4373.
SUMMERFEST: Garrettsville village will host its annual summerfest Friday to Sunday in the downtown area. The event will include two stages of entertainment, interactive circus acts, golf cart raffle, contests and parade, games, amusement rides and fireworks.
STRAWBERRY FESTIVAL: Newton Falls First Christian Church, North Center Street, will host a strawberry social starting at 1 p.m. Saturday.
QUILT MAKERS: The McKinley Memorial Library in Niles will present "Make a Quilt By Hand for Beginners" at 2 p.m. Saturday at the McKinley Birthplace Home. Cindy Oravecz of Quilter's Fancy in Cortland will explain how to hand-stitch a quilt block using the English paper piecing method. All materials will be provided. LAWN CONCERTS: The McKinley Memorial Library will host a lawn concert at 6:30 p.m. Thursday on the grounds of the McKinley Memorial . Random Strangers will play country music. In Howland, the Music in the Park series will have the Girard Community Springtime Band performing at 6 p.m. Sunday.
STEAM FRIDAY: The Girard Free Library will host STEAM Friday from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Children in three different age groups will take part in science, technology, art and math activities,
A program on controlling common weeds will be presented at 6 p.m. Wednesday by the Trumbull County Master Gardeners.
POPSICLE DAY: Woodland Park in McDonald is hosting its Popsicles in the Park 1 to 3 p.m. Wednesday, marking the first official day of summer. The event will be at the park pavilion.
SEMINAR SET: The Alzheimer Network will present a seminar on legal and financial issues regarding long-term care often associated with Alzheimer's disease. The seminar will be offered at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Guiding Light Presbyterian Church, 890 Churchill Hubbard Road, Girard. The presenter is attorney W. David Keast, who specializes in elder law and belongs to the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys. For reservations call 330-788-9755.

JOB FAIR: Warren City Schools will host a job fair from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday at Warren G. Harding High School for bus drivers, cafeteria and maintenance positions.
