ART SHOW: The Trumbull County Educational Service Center will host the annual high school art show at 5 p.m. Wednesday at the Medici Museum, 9350 E. Market St., Howland. The event will showcase more than 150 works of art students from 18 Trumbull County school districts. Artists will be judged in five categories. The artwork is on display at the museum through Wednesday.
DOCUMENT SHREDDING: The Geauga-Trumbull Solid Waste Management District will offer free document shredding 9 a.m. to noon Saturday. The one-day paper shredding event will be at the Trumbull County collection site parking lot, 5138 Enterprise Drive, Warren, for Geauga and Trumbull county residents. There is a limit of four boxes / bags per vehicle. Due to COVID-19, empty boxes will not be returned. For information, call 330-675-2673. The event will take place rain or shine. The district will partner with Protect-N-Shred of Cortland to offer the service.
"WIZARD OF OZ:" The Niles McKinley High School Drama Club will present "The Wizard of Oz" at 7 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday at the high school auditorium off Dragon Drive. Tickets are $5 per person.
BRACEVILLLE HISTORY: The Braceville Historical Society will meet at 3 p.m. Sunday at the township hall. Speakers are Terry and Gwen Shavers, who will speak about Braceville's involvement with the Underground Railroad.
INSPIRING MINDS: Inspiring Minds will host its 17th annual fundraising gala 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday at Inspiring Minds, 837 Woodland St. NE, Warren. The networking fundraiser connects businesses, organizations and community members from all walks of life to celebrate the success and achievements of local students. SOCIETY HOSTS PROGRAM: The Vienna Historical Society will host Belinda Weiss, director of the McKinley Memorial Museum, who will discuss "Ida McKinley: A Life of Triumph and Tragedy" at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Vienna United Methodist Church.
PLAYHOUSE DESIGN PROJECT: Eastwood Mall in Niles is hosting an Imagination Creation Playhouse Design Contest for children age 6 to 14 who are asked to draw their own design for a playhouse. A panel of judges will select the 10 best drawings. Local contractors will turn the drawings into actual playhouses. The playhouses will be on display June through mid-August. The contest runs through April 30. Age eligible children are to draw and color a playhouse on paper. On May 1, a panel of eight judges will select first-, second- and third-place winners. DERBY DAY: The McKinley Memorial Birthplace Museum will host a Derby Day 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. May 7. Cost is $25 per person, which includes pastries, tea and coffee. Because the Kentucky Derby is the theme of the event, those attending can wear fancy hats. RSVP at 330-652-4273 by Sunday.
