EGG HUNT IN FALLS: Newton Falls village will hold an Easter egg hunt noon to 2 p.m. Saturday at Newton Falls school grounds, 907 Milton Blvd. In case of inclement weather, the event will be held inside the school. There will be different age groups each half hour looking for eggs. There will be other activities and prizes.
CITYWIDE CLEANUP: Pride and Joy Today LLC is asking for volunteers to Help Clean Our City Warren, and is hosting a citywide cleanup 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. Locations include the city's west and east northend. A 1 p.m. volunteers' lunch is being sponsored by Community Concerned Citizens.

CEMTERY CLEANUP: St. Stephen Cemetery, Niles, needs to have all Christmas decorations removed by April 1. Any decorations that remain after that date will be discarded. Spring decorations will not be removed.
SECRET SATURDAY: The Community Volunteer Council will sponsor a Secret Saturday for girls and women of all ages. The event will be held 3 to 5 p.m. at TCAP, 1230 Palmyra Road SW, Warren.
LAYING OF THE ROSES: The Laying of the Roses Ceremony will be 1 p.m. Sunday at the Vietnam Memorial Downtown Youngstown, on the square. All veterans and families are welcome to attend.
PRESS CLUB SPEAKER: Dorie Chevlen, a staff writer for The New York Times' Wirecutter consumer product review website, will address a Youngstown Press Club gathering on April 4.
Chevlen, who has roots in the Mahoning Valley, will appear as part of the club's Speaker Series at a breakfast from 8 to 9:30 a.m. at Eastern Gateway Community College, 101 E. Federal St., in Room A108 / 109 in Thomas Humphrey Hall.
Her topic will be: "Who Cares? How to Write a Story That Gets Read."
Chevlen has been a Wirecutter staff writer since 2018. Based in Los Angeles, Chevlen also is a freelance writer, copy editor and fact checker.
Besides The New York Times, her nonfiction writing has been published by The Wall Street Journal, Slate and Glamour. From 2015 to 2018, she was a copy editor and fact checker for Science magazine. Also a fiction writer and screenwriter, her pilot scripts have won or placed in multiple contests.
She was the 2022 winner of the Final Draft Big Break and ScreenCraft Pilot competitions.
Having grown up in Liberty Township and having attended Liberty High School, Chevlen is a 2015 graduate of Goucher College.

Tickets are $15 for club members and $20 for nonmembers.
