HOWL-O-WEEN CELEBRATION: The Friends of the Mosquito Lake State Park dog park will host the annual Howl-o-Ween celebration noon to 4 p.m. Oct. 2 at the park in Bazetta. The event will include a parade of dogs, canine costume contest, dog behavior programs, and face painting and games for children.
GUEST SPEAKER: Trumbull County Historical Society member Cindee Mines will be the guest speaker at 2 p.m. today at the Braceville Historical Society gathering at Braceville township hall, Braceville Robinson Road. Mines will speak on her family and their connection to Braceville, including the railroads in and around Braceville. She also will speak about a woman from Braceville who survived the sinking of the RMS Lusitania.
PEACEFUL PRAYER RALLY: A "40 Days for Life" campaign to end abortion will kick off with a rally at 6 p.m. Tuesday at St. Stephen Church, 129 E. Park Ave., Niles. TEA PAINTING: The McKinley Memorial Library in Niles will offer a tea painting class 2 p.m. Saturday at the McKInley Birthplace Replica Home. SPECIAL COLLECTION: The Geauga Trumbull Solid Waste Management District will host an electronics and appliance collection 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at the facility, 5138 Enterprise Drive, Warren. COLLECTION TO HELP AGENCY: The McKinley Memorial Library in Niles is collecting hats, mittens and scarves for the month of October as part of a drive to benefit Niles Community Services. Donations should be new and unused, store bought or handmade. Donations can be dropped off at the library or at Niles Community Services on Vienna Avenue.
