Veterans group holds open house

VFW POST HOSTS FOUNDERS DAY: Niles Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2074 will host Founders Day celebration and open house 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the post, 140 Higgins Ave. The community is invited. Musical entertainment will be provided by Aries and the Empress.

Veterans of Foreign Wars is a nonprofit veterans services organization made up of eligible veterans and military service members from armed guard and reserve forces.

WEEK OF APPRECIATION: The week of Sept. 20 has been designated as a Week of Appreciation to honor front line heroes such as behavioral health care workers, police officers, firefighters, EMTs, paramedics and emergency department staff.

The Trumbull County Mental Health and Recovery Board will show support and appreciation to those who work directly with individuals struggling to overcome substance use disorders.

SHOTS AT THE SHOP: Warren City Health District is providing the vaccines for the Downtown Grooming Lounge, 137 S. Park Ave., Warren, which is hosting “Shots at the Shop” from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday and Sept. 30 and Oct. 14 and 21. Also offered is a $100 gift card for anyone getting their first COVID-19 vaccine dose.
