Hartford Apple Festival runs this weekend

ANNUAL APPLE EVENT: The annual Hartford Apple Festival will be today through Sunday at the township center, state Routes 7 and 305. The event will include music, a car show, food, concessions, carnival games and other activities for families. A parade will be 6 p.m. Saturday. Ty’s Tunes will perform 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the festival. A 5K run and one-mile walk will be held Sunday.

CAR SHOW: The Girard Multigenerational Center on Trumbull Avenue will host a car show 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. There will be judging for classic cars in several categories. The event also will include a basket raffle, 50-50, food and music. The event is free with proceeds to benefit the center.

ROSS GRIFFIN MEMORIAL: The fourth annual Ross Griffin Memorial Bash will be Sunday at the Griffin SLOAS Airfield, 4059 North River Road, Howland. Gates open at noon with drawing between 2 and 5 p.m. Winners need not be present. There will be various prizes. For information, call 330-539-8323.

CAR AND CRAFT SHOW: Raider Pride car and craft show will be 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Trumbull Plaza, 2567 Parkman Road NW. Vehicle registration begins 10 a.m. with a $10 fee. Music, food and craft vendors will be featured. Proceeds will benefit the Raiders Pride Park. Rain date is Sunday.

CAT SHELTER GIVEAWAY: TNR and Cats Are People Too are offering free cat shelters for winter 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. (or until gone) Saturday at Family Farm & Home, 3850 Elm Road NE, Warren. The shelters will be given on a first-come, first-served basis. For more information, go to www.tnrofwarren.org.
