Members will sing “Alexander’s Ragtime Band” from “Together We Sing,” published by NFMC.

GRAIN BIN RESCUE CONTEST: The Ohio Farm Bureau is holding its annual Grain Bin Rescue contest.

Each year, thousands of farmers and commercial grain handlers risk their lives by entering grain bins to remove clumped or rotted grain. Nationwide is teaming up with National Education Center for Agricultural Safety and others partnering to hold the Nominate Your Fire Department as part of Nationwide’s annual Grain Bin Safety Week Feb. 21 to 27.

The contest awards grain rescue tubes and hands-on rescue training to first responders. Since its inception in 2014, the contest has awarded tubes and training to 152 fire departments across 29 states.

To enter the contest, fire department must describe how the department or emergency response team and its rural community would benefit from grain rescue tubes and grain rescue training.

Nomination will be accepted through April 30 at grainbinsafetyweek.com, email agcontest@nicc.edu or NECASGrain Bin Safety Contest, 8342NICC Drive, Pesota, Iowa 52068

The number of winners will be determined after the contest closes and be based on the amount of donations received.
