GINGERBREAD CONTEST: The McKinley Memorial Library in Niles is hosting a virtual gingerbread house contest.
Entrants can create their own house or pick up a kit from the library's curbside service. Entries will be emailed to mckinley@mcklib.org. Categories are 17 and younger and 18 and older.
On Monday, entries will be posted to the library's Facebook page where every "like" counts a s a vote until Dec. 20. On Dec. 21. winners in each age group will receive a gift card.

DRIVE-THRU SANTA: The Vienna Fire Department will host a drive-thru Santa visit 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday at the fire station, 833 Youngstown Kingsville Road NE, Vienna.
LIBRARY CLOSED: The Brookfield branch of the Warren-Trumbull County Public Library, 7032 Grove St., will be closed Saturday. All other branches will remain open.
CRAFT SHOW: The women's guild of St. William Church, 5411 Mahoning Ave., Champion, will have its annual Christmas craft show 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.
Lunch will be available. Masks are required and social distancing will be observed.
REPTILE SHOW: The Northeast Ohio Reptile Show will be 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday at the Metroplex Expo Center, 1620 Motor Inn Drive, Liberty.
VIRTUAL RAFFLE: The Girard High School Band Boosters are hosting a virtual basketball raffle extravaganza 7 p.m. Saturday at the high school to benefit the high school band.
FLAG RETIREMENT: Boy Scout Troops 28/122 will host a flag retirement burial ceremony 2 p.m. Sunday at Fisher Farm, 3469 Cadwallader Sonk Road, Cortland.
The public can participate in the occasion to witness as the scouts conduct the ceremony for disposal of unserviceable flags. People are asked to arrive no later than 2:45 p.m. and to dress for the weather and wear shoes or boots that may get slightly muddy.

PAINT AND SIP: The Paul and Yetta Gluck School of Visual Arts at the Jewish Community Center of Youngstown is offering a Hot Cocoa Sip and Paint for all ages from 5:30 to 6:45 p.m. Dec. 15 at the JCC, 505 Gypsy Lane, or virtually.
Participants will sip hot cocoa as they learn to paint a winter wonderland. The cost is $25 for JCC members and $32 for nonmembers.
