ORAL HISTORY PROJECT: The Trumbull County Historical Society Voices Steering Committee will present TCHS's Voices Oral History Project 2 p.m. June 14. The Voices Oral History Project captured the experiences of African Americans in Warren who are 70-plus years old. The presentation, by members of the project Steering Committee, will talk about what it was like to complete this project. The presentation will include the official launch of the Voices website and will show how to use the site for the public, researchers and educators.

VIDEO CONTEST: The Ohio Turnpike is hosting a video contest to help save lives and earn prizes. Distracted driving is a major problem for everyone traveling nature's roadways. The problem is even more prevalent among younger drivers who have the least amount of driving experience. The dangers become even more deadly in the summer between Memorial Day and Labor Day.
As part of the Ohio Turnpike's continued effort to raise awareness about the dangers of distracted driving, the third annual W82TXT video contest for high school students in grades 9-12 is being held.
The top three winners will be able to choose from different prizes such as gift cards. The grand prize winner will also get to choose a booster club at their school to which the Ohio Turnpike will donate $500.

FARM BUREAU MERGERS: Effective June 1, the Northeast Ohio Farm Bureau is merging and relocating offices. The office covers Ashtabula, Geauga, Lake and Trumbull counties and is merging into a regional office with nine other county farm bureaus. The regional office will consist of Trumbull, Mahoning, Ashtabula, Geauga, Lake, Columbiana, Portage, Stark, Summit, Erie, Huron, Lorain and Cuyahoga counties.
The office is open Monday to Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. The new farm bureau office can be reached at 440-426-2195. The director is Mandy Orahood, and she is available at nefarmbu@ofbf.org
The farm bureau is a grassroots organization working together with farmers to address agriculture and other topics.
CURBSIDE PICKUP SERVICE: The McKinley Memorial Library in Niles is offering curbside pickup, which started June 1. Patrons can request materials such as books, movies, CDs, by calling the library at 330-652-1704, ext. 3 for adult materials and ext. 4 for children and teen materials. Library staff will prepare materials for curbside pickup and call patrons for a pickup time. Patrons are asked to remain in their vehicles when picking up items by placing them in the vehicle trunk or empty seat by rolling down a window. All returned items need to be placed in the drive-thru return boxes on North Arlington Avenue.
