Mosquito Lake raises money for Special Olympics

OLAR PLUNGE SET: The annual Polar Plunge at Mosquito Lake in Bazetta will be held 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. The event helps raise funds for Special Olympics.

Check-in and registration at the beach is 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., with a costumes contest at 12:45 p.m.

The Polar Plunge will be from 1 to 1:30 p.m., with a post plunge party at the Cortland Moose Family Center from 2 to 4 p.m.

NILES TALENT: Niles McKinley High School Drama Club will present “Niles Got Talent” 7 p.m. Saturday at the high school auditorium. Students will be competing for the first half of the show.

Tickets will be used for people to vote for their favorite talent.

CRAFT ACTIVITY: The OH WOW! The Roger and Gloria Jones Children’s Center for Science and Technology in Youngstown will hold Make Hobo Bags for ages 8 and older noon to 2 p.m. Saturday. Bring an adult T-shirt.

FIRST AID PROGRAM: The Jewish Community Center of Youngstown is offering a first aid / CPR / AED class from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Feb. 15, March 14 or April 18. The cost is $75 for JCC members and $100 for nonmembers.
