Family activity set at Vienna church

The Seeing Eye

CANDYLAND EVENT: Vienna United Methodist Church, 4265 Warren-Sharon Road, will host a life-size Candyland for children 3:30 to 8 p.m. Friday; noon to 7 p.m. Saturday; and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday. There will be various activities, family photo booth and snacks.

HOLIDAY TRAINS: Trains in the Town Hall will be held 5 to 8 p.m. each Wednesday; and 2 to 5 p.m. each Saturday in December at the North Bloomfield town hall at township square. The train displays were organized by the Bloomfield Historical Society. Large model train displays featuring Victorian winter scene and local summer setup with models of Bloomfield Town Square and industrial complex. Free popcorn, cookies and drinks.

SWINGTIME BAND: The Girard Swingtime Band will perform a Christmas concert 6 p.m. Sunday at Girard First Christian Church, 140 E. Broadway Ave.

UGLY SWEATER EVENT: The OH WOW! The Roger & Gloria Jones Children’s Center for Science & Technology in Youngstown will hold a “Hack It; Ugly Sweater” program for children ages 9 and older noon to 2 p.m. Saturday. Children will work with Inspire Works staff to design their own ugly sweater. For information call 330-744-5914.

HOPES AND WISHES: The 11th annual Holiday Hopes and Wishes event, hosted by the Kids Crew of Akron Children’s Hospital Mahoning Valley, will take place 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at Mr. Anthony’s, 7440 South Ave. in Boardman. The event will feature a luncheon, basket raffle, silent auction and a holiday bake shop. Tickets are $40 each and can be purchased by visiting www.akronchildrens.org/holidayhopesandwishes or contacting Charlotte Diss at 330-746-8712. All proceeds will benefit the Akron Children’s Hospital Mahoning Valley Behavioral Health Fund.
