NILES ALUMNI EVENT: The Niles McKinley Alumni Association 22nd annual Distinguished Hall of Fame recognition dinner will be held 5 p.m. Sept. 1 at Ciminero’s Banquet Centre in Niles. Being inducted are Michael A. Cline Sr., Leslie J. Nagy Jr., Carmen F. Roberts III, Stephanie Danes Smith and Marie A. Rossi Vross. COLLECTION FOR FLOOD VICTIMS: The Northern Trumbull County Community Foundation, a member of the Community Foundation of Western Pennsylvania and Northern Ohio, is accepting donations to assist the victims of flooding in Kinsman.

CHAMPION PRIDE, BACK TO SCHOOL: The Champion Pride Council is inviting the community to help students secure needed back-to-school supplies. Council organizations have been collecting supplies from the schools’ supplies list throughout the month of July. All donations will be brought to Champion Christian Church on Friday, with distribution to take place Saturday. Local school students, Champion Rotary and Champion Historical Society are participating in the collection.

FAMILY REUNION: The 142nd Chalker Norton Viets family reunion will be held 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Aug. 11 at Kool Lakes Family Campgrounds in Garrettsville. Bring a covered dish to share.

A Chinese auction and 50-50 raffle will be held. Money will help the family reunion to grow. There will be a business meeting, updating genealogy records, and honoring the oldest and youngest person and family that came the farthest.
