McDonald pavilion to be site of event

CHECKERS TOURNAMENT: The John Peters Checkers Tournament will be held 10 a.m. Monday at the Woodland Park Pavilion, McDonald. Sign up at the park building. Tournament registration begins 9:30 a.m.

WASHER TOURNAMENT: A washer tournament will be held noon June 30 at the McDonald village basketball courts to benefit the McDonald Fire Department. Fire washers will be used. First place earns $200 and second place $100.

To pre-register, send $50 to the McDonald Fire Department, attention Chief Todd Stitt, 451 Ohio Ave., McDonald 44437. Tournament sign up will be until 10 a.m. the day of the event.

STRAWBERRY SOCIAL: St. Paul Lutheran Church, 2860 E. Market St., Warren, will hold a strawberry social noon to 4 p.m. Sunday.

TEEN STRAIGHT TALK: Teen Straight Talk will celebrate its 30th anniversary 6 to 8:30 p.m. June 28 at the Avalon Inn and Resort in Howland. The organization speaks to youths and other groups throughout the community.
