TREES HELP FISH: Used Christmas trees can be recycled by being brought to Mosquito Lake through Feb. 1. Trees will be accepted at the state Route 305 U.S. Army Corps of Engineers boat launch, 3341 Warren Meadville Road. Trees will be used as fish habitat. Trees must be real. No artificial trees accepted. All lights and decorations must be completely removed. For information, contact the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers office at 330-637-1961.

PHOTO WINNER: Trumbull County MetroParks in partnership with Trumbull County Soil and Water Conservation District and Trumbull Neighborhood Partnership has selected Lisa Bickel of Fowler as the winner of the 2017 fall photo contest winner. The winter 2018 photo contest is underway for the best picture of a Trumbull County MetroParks park or property. Photos are being accepted through Feb. 28. Rules are posted at www.trumbullmetroparks.org. Email photos to Zachary Svette at Zachary.svette@trumbullmetroparks.org. Winning photos will be published to the website.
COOKIE DECORATING: Girard Multi-Generational Center will hold cookie decorating with Windsor House 9:15 a.m. Tuesday. A sports fan potluck luncheon and chili cookoff will be noon to 2 p.m. Jan. 16 in the center's gymnasium. Participants can wear their favorite sports team attire. Bring a side dish. Chili competitors can sign up at 330-545-6596.
