Ride to help Autism Society

YOUNGSTOWN – The Autism Society of Ohio, Mahoning Valley office, the regional chapter of the Autism Society of America, will be the beneficiary of the third annual Mike Hull Memorial Ride Aug. 22.

The ride is designed to raise awareness and money for autism.

Melissa Kalaman, director with the local office, said Hull was a husband, father, brother and grandfather of a granddaughter on the autism spectrum. He was also a musician donated his time and talent to organizations in need.

”Hull’s generosity did not stop when his earthly life ended in 2012, but continued by becoming an organ donor, where his generous gift helped hundreds. The annual poker run is way for Hull to continue to help those in need,” she said.

The schedule includes 11 a.m. registration at the Dash Inn, 2716 Mahoning Ave., Youngstown. Blessing of the bikes will be at 11:45 a.m. The run begins at the Dash Inn and proceeds to Sail In at Lake Milton, Power House Cafe in Salem, STYX in Austintown, New Brick House in Youngstown), and ends at Strikers at Mahoning Valley Lanes.

The event will also include bowling, music, deejay, Chinese auction and 50-50 raffle.

Registration 6 to 9 p.n. Aug. 21 at Strikers. All proceeds will support the programming of the Autism Society of Ohio.
