MUSEUM HOLDS OPEN HOUSE: The Sutliff Museum, located on the second floor of the Warren-Trumbull County Public Library, 444 Mahoning Ave., Warren, will hold a spring open house from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday. The public is invited to have lemonade and cookies along with a visit to the Victorian parlor which was created with furniture, paintings and memorabilia from the Sutliff family home built in Warren in 1850 and located on High Street. During the months of March and April, the Sutliff is showing Victorian Easter greeting cards on loan from a private collection placed throughout the display cases. In the community display case during the months of March and April, painted tea cups and saucers from a private collector. Tours may be arranged at other times by calling 330-399-8807, ext. 121.
SOCIETY TO MEET: Trumbull County Genealogical Society will meet 10:15 a.m. today at Warren-Trumbull County Public Library. Guest speaker is Roger Peterson, president of the Bloomfield Township Historical Society, who will discuss the tile mill and history of Clay Tile Products in Bloomfield. The meeting will be in the Thomas Meeting Room.
AUCTIONEER TO ADDRESS GROUP: Hubbard Historical Society will meet 7 p.m. Thursday at the senior center at the city administration building, 220 W. Liberty St. Guest speaker is Jeff Byce, auctioneer and appraiser with Byce Auction in Youngstown. He will share his experiences regarding what makes an object valuable with visual examples and interactive stories. Those attending are asked to bring a small item or photo of an item for remarks.

METAL DETECTOR PROGRAM: The Cortland-Bazetta Historical Society will host guest speaker Larry “Jesse” James, president of the Tri-County Metal Detection Club, 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the Opera House in Cortland. During his presentation, James and some other members of the Tri-County Metal Detection Club will discuss their searches. James has 35 years of searching with a metal detector and is a charter member of the Metal Detection Club for 21 years.
