Two chambers finalize affiliation

The Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber and the Columbiana Area Chamber of Commerce have finalized an affiliation agreement expanding programming, advocacy and member services in Columbiana while preserving local governance, the organizations announced Monday. Under the agreement, approved by the boards of directors of both organizations, the Columbiana Chamber retains control of its policy, budget and long-term direction. Deerfield Ag Services, with locations in Deerfield and Kinsman, has transitioned to employee ownership through an Employee Stock Ownership Plan effective Feb. 1. The transition is the result of several years of succession planning by second-generation owners Bill Wallbrown, John Wallbrown and Beth Wallbrown-Padisak, the company said in a news release Monday. Primanti Brothers ended its 10-year run in Boardman as the Pittsburgh-based restaurant chain shuttered its South Avenue eatery on Monday. Within the past year, the company has closed seven locations and rescinded plans to open a restaurant in the Harrisburg, Pa., area.
