Toyota of Warren underwent an ownership change when it was sold Tuesday for $4.6 million, according to Trumbull County property records.

“The dealership is staying the same, and all the employees are the same,” said Tino Merlo, the dealership’s general manager.

“Our inventory is going to increase — new and used, especially new.”

Merlo said the company’s official name is Toyota of Warren R9 Motors. A call to the new owner was not returned. An attorney representing the seller, MWM Land Co. Ltd., referred to the transaction as a private sale and offered no further details.

The dealership, located at 2657 state Route 46, borders Niles and Howland. The property transaction involves approximately 3.2 acres.

Toyota of Warren opened at its current location in November 2017. Previously, it had sold vehicles since 1996 at its Youngstown Warren Road dealership in Warren.

“It’s the same great people, same great service,” Merlo said. “Hopefully, we’re going to be able to service people even better than before and offer the same great, if not better, deals than before.”
