Alta Care Group announces new CEO
Staff writer
The CEO of a Mahoning Valley behavioral health organization announced his upcoming retirement from the nonprofit.
Marking 40 years in the industry, Joe Shorokey will step down March 31 as Alta Care Group’s leader. Vince Paolucci has been named his replacement.
“Leading Alta Care Group has been the honor of my career,” Shorokey said in a news release Tuesday. “I’ve been privileged to work alongside an incredible team that truly cares about making a difference in children’s lives.
“I am confident that Vince’s leadership will continue to drive our mission forward with the same vision, passion and dedication.”
Alta Care Group was founded to support the social, emotional, behavioral, educational and physical well-being of children, adolescents and young adults. Under Shorokey’s leadership, the organization serves more than 3,000 families through its two primary divisions: Alta Behavioral Healthcare and Alta Head Start.
Beginning his career in 1994, Paolucci has been with Alta Care Group since 2017 and recently served as chief operating officer. He brings nearly 30 years of experience in behavioral health to his new position.
His leadership roles include director-level positions at the Mahoning County Board of Developmental Disabilities.
“My goal is to continue the development and strengthening of our programs that provide critical support to children and families in need,” Paolucci said.
