Incubator, coalition to share services

YOUNGSTOWN — The Youngstown Business Incubator and the Mahoning Valley Manufacturers Coalition have partnered in an initiative to expand Youngstown’s manufacturing footprint.

The initial focus of the agreement is on shared business services, but the organizations’ long-term vision is to find opportunities for future collaborations, according to a release announcing the partnership.

The agreement, said Joe Collettisd Jr., MVMC president, “will allow MVMC to focus on its core mission while still keeping an eye on new opportunities to serve the (Mahoning) Valley’s manufacturers.”

Working with MVMC for YBI “will open new doors” for the agency “to more deeply engage with our manufacturing base and to expand our footprint into new areas,” said Barb Ewing, CEO of YBI.

MVMC provides a network for local manufacturers to identify common needs and problem-solve with its partners by sharing

ideas and resources to develop a skilled workforce.

YBI supports the commercialization and adoption of new technologies with a focus on additive manufacturing, as

minority, women and veteran-owned businesses.
