SOUTHWOODS OPENS SECOND EXPRESS LOCATION: Boardman-based Southwoods Health has opened its latest Express Care at the new Community Literacy Workforce and Cultural Center, 436 Struthers Coitsville Road, Campbell.
Southwoods Express Care provides fast, easy access to medical care that is non-urgent but still requires immediate attention, from flu, coughs and colds to sprains, strains and minor injuries.
The Boardman and Campbell locations are open 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. weekdays and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. weekends. Both offer COVID-19 testing with results available in two to four days. No appointments necessary.
WILLIAMSON AT YSU HOSTS SESSIONS: The Williamson College of Business Administration will host the Youngstown State University Accounting and Auditing Update 8:30 a.m. to noon Dec. 9 and 10.

RIBBON CUT AT DECOR STORE: Rebecca’s Unique Boutique last week cut the ribbon to celebrate its opening at 5865 Mahoning Ave., Youngstown.
The boutique, which opened officially in late August, carries a wide selection of home decor, from Christmas decor, gifts, statues and memorial for loved ones or pets.
It is planning an open house 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday.
TRI-STATE EXPANDS: Tri-State Neuropathy Centers has grown to a new location in Boardman, bringing care to those who suffer from peripheral neuropathy.
Peripheral neuropathy occurs when nerves are damaged or destroyed and can’t send messages to the muscles, skin and other parts of the body. Peripheral nerves go from the brain and spinal cord to the arms, hands, legs and feet. When damage to the nerves takes place, numbness and pain in these areas may occur.
An estimated 30 million people in the U.S. suffer from some form of peripheral neuropathy.
KOA AWARDS: Kampgrounds of America (KOA), the world’s largest family of family-friendly, open-to-the-public campgrounds, has announced the Lake Milton / Berlin Lake KOA Holiday has earned the 2021 KOA President’s Award and KOA Founder’s Award.
The prestigious awards were presented Nov. 17 at KOA’s Annual International Convention.
The founder’s award is KOA’s highest service award, given to KOA campground owners and managers who attain top scores in both customer service and the KOA quality review.
The president’s award is presented to campgrounds meeting exceptional quality standards and that receive high customer service scores from their camping guests.

Birmingham, who received her associate degree from The Fashion Institute of Technology before earning her bachelor’s degree from The Ohio State University, previously worked in the medical, banking and retail industries before becoming a licensed Realtor.

DOCTOR JOINS AKRON CHILDREN’S: Pediatric pulmonologist, Dr. Michael Pena, has joined Akron Children’s Hospital in the Robert T. Stone, M.D., Respiratory Center.
Pena earned his medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. Prior to joining Akron Children’s, he completed his fellowship in pediatric pulmonary medicine at Indiana University School of Medicine’s Riley Hospital for Children. From 2015 to 2017, he was a neonatology hospitalist at University Hospitals Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital in Cleveland, where he also completed his pediatric residency.
