GOODWILL OPENS HUBBARD STORE: Youngstown Area Goodwill Industries has opened a new store and donation center at 619 W. Liberty St., Hubbard.

The location is the ninth local store for the nonprofit’s retail presence, which stretches across five counties in eastern Ohio and western Pennsylvania. The Goodwill stores operate primarily on donated goods, but the Youngstown-based organization recently expanded its offerings to include a selection of new merchandise in every store.

The Hubbard store and donation center is open 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday to Saturday and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.

FORMER YSU STAFFER TAPPED: Following a national search, Dr. Debra L. Fitzsimons, originally from Hermitage, Pa., has been selected vice president for administration and finance at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. She began work at IUP on Dec. 16.

Fitzsimons brings more than 25 years of experience to the role, serving as a higher education business and finance executive officer or chief financial officer at colleges and universities in Pennsylvania, Ohio, California and Hawaii.

She began her professional career at Youngstown State University, where she had several roles, including executive director-business and financial affairs. In this position, she had total budget responsibility of $196 million.
