Jay Leno plays Stambaugh for United Way benefit

Comedian Jay Leno returns to Stambaugh Auditorium on Jan. 7, 2027, for a benefit performance. The show is presented by The Muransky Companies, and all proceeds will benefit United Way of Youngstown and the Mahoning Valley and the work it does to support programs and services in the local community. Leno hosted NBC’s “The Tonight Show” from 1992 to 2009 and 2010 to 2014 after serving as a frequent guest host for Johnny Carson during his tenure. Skaggs brings Thunder to Robins Theatre

Ricky Skaggs & Kentucky Thunder will play the Robins Theatre on Nov. 13. Skaggs is a 15-time Grammy winner and inductee in both the Country and Bluegrass halls of fame. He played with bluegrass legend Bill Monroe when he was 6 years old, and appeared on the “Flatt & Scruggs” syndicated TV show the following year, earning his first paycheck as a musician. In the mid 1970s, Skaggs was joined by Leavittsburg native Jerry Douglas in the influential bluegrass band J.D. Crowe & the New South. Tickets for the 7:30 p.m. show start at $39 and go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday through Etix.

Canfield Fair finale reworked after Bret Michaels cancellation

Bret Michaels no longer will close out the 180th Canfield Fair. The Poison lead singer canceled all of his remaining 2026 tour dates due to medical reasons. Earlier this summer, Michaels had surgery for kidney stones. A post on Michaels’ social media account said, “Following Bret Michaels’ comeback show at The Bowl at Sugar Hill (on Friday), doctors and paramedics determined immediately after the show that he still needs additional rest and recovery from his recent surgeries.
