Phelps tour to stop in Austintown

David Phelps brings a touch of home to the opening date of his One Wintry Night tour on Dec. 4 at Youngstown’s Highway Tabernacle. The Christian music vocalist’s concert will be similar to his annual Christmas Barn Bash at his family farm just outside of Nashville. After years of Christmas merchandise and music creeping earlier and earlier into autumn, the fall revelers are fighting back. This weekend at Penguin City Brewing Company, 460 E. Federal St., Youngstown, will be the first Holiday Haunt with the brewery working in partnership with Nightmare in Niles, Dead Ink Apparel and Rebel Rescue Ranch. Stambaugh features Tuba carols, vendors

A brassy tradition brings holiday cheer to Stambaugh Auditorium on Sunday with TubaChristmas. This is the ninth year for TubaChristmas at Stambaugh and the 52st year for the tradition nationwide that was conceived in 1974 by Harvey Phillips as a tribute to his teacher and mentor, William J. Bell, who was born on Christmas Day. A trio of poets will present their work for Lit Youngstown’s next First Wednesday Reader Series event.
