Hopewell seeks ‘Silent Sky’ actors

YOUNGSTOWN — Auditions are scheduled from 5 to 8 p.m Jan. 15 and 1 to 5 p.m. Jan. 17 for the play “Silent Sky” at Hopewell Theatre, 702 Mahoning Ave., Youngstown. Lauren Gunderson’s play is based on the true story of 19th-century astronomer Henrietta Leavitt and explores a woman’s place in society during a time of immense scientific and heart-bound discoveries. MVHS schedules temporary closures of two museums

Mahoning Valley Historical Society announced temporary closures for its two museums — one for a few days, the other for a month. The Tyler History Center, 325 W. Federal St., Youngstown, will be closed this weekend and reopen Tuesday with regular hours, which are noon to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday. The Arms Family Museum, 648 Wick Ave., Youngstown, will be closed in January for exhibit changeover and routine cleaning and resume regular hours on Feb. 3. TNT announces auditions for ‘Deer Camp’

Auditions for the musical “Deer Camp” are scheduled from 2 to 4 p.m. Jan. 11 and 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Jan. 13 at Trumbull New Theatre, 5883 Youngstown-Warren Road, Niles. Cast requirements are four men for the musical comedy about four men who get together every year for a hunting trip. They get an ultimatum from their wives, but there’s one problem — none of them know how to hunt. Those auditioning should prepare 16 bars of music to sing.
