‘Jesus Christ Superstar’ opens

ACTS Performing Arts Center will stage the musical “Jesus Christ Superstar” for an eight-performance run starting Saturday. The Andrew Lloyd Webber-Tim Rice rock opera reimagines the final days of Jesus Christ — told through the eyes of Judas Iscariot. Blending rock anthems with biblical themes, the production is set in the 1980s, and it explores humanity, betrayal and faith through a contemporary lens. Youngstown Playhouse will have auditions for the play “The Shark Is Broken” in April.
