YSU offers art camp

The Youngstown State University Department of Art will host its first Summer Art Camp in June at Bliss Hall. Designed for students ages 13 to 18 entering grades 9 to 12, the camp will provide hands-on studio experience in painting, printmaking, photography and graphic design. Throughout the week, students will receive instruction and personalized feedback from college-level art faculty in a workshop-style format that encourages experimentation and creative growth. April 17 is the deadline to enter the 89th National Midyear Juried Exhibition at the Butler Institute of American Art in Youngstown. Open to artists 18 years of age and older residing in the United States and its territories, the exhibition invites submissions of two-dimensional and relief artworks that reflect the diversity, creativity and innovation of American visual art today. LOOP Youngstown offers fellowship program

LOOP Youngstown is accepting applications for its new Emerging Artist Fellowship program. This fellowship is designed to support artists and writers in the early stage of their creative career, typically within their first 10 years of practicing seriously. Applicants may not yet have a large body of work, but they are finding their artistic voice and starting to build experience through exhibitions, performances, publications, grants or awards.
