Upton series features program on P.T. Barnum Magician Tom Phoolery will be the guest for the Upton Association’s monthly program at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Harriet Taylor Upton House, 380 Mahoning Ave. NW, Warren. In addition to a few magic tricks, he will talk about P.T. Barnum and the history of the “The Greatest Show on Earth” — the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus. Former Dire Straits’ players come to Robins

A former member of Dire Straits and musicians who toured with the group will play the Robins Theatre on Aug. 13 as Dire Straits Legacy. The band includes Alan Clark, who was keyboard player for the band from 1980 until it disbanded in 1995, as well as Mel Collins, who played saxophone on the band’s 1982-83 tour, and Phil Palmer, rhythm guitar, and Danny Cummings, percussion, who both toured with the band in the early ’90s. Tickets start at $39 and go on sale 10 a.m. Friday.
