Stage Left opens ‘Little Shop’

Stage Left Players’ presents the musical “Little Shop of Horrors” for a two-weekend run.
The musical combines comedy, romance and a touch of sci-fi as Seymour Krelborn, a meek flower shop employee, discovers a mysterious plant with an insatiable appetite.
It’s an early musical by Alan Menken and Howard Ashman, who went on to write songs for the Disney animated hits “The Little Mermaid” and “Beauty & the Beast,” both of which were adapted for the stage.
The musical is directed by Kandy Cleland, and the cast features John Diddle, Rachelle Hamilton, Eric Kibler, Braedyn Miller, Luke Kraft, Morgan Boley, Christine Martin, Olivia Rice, Virginia Barborak, Paige Hoskinson, Alison Hoskinson, Elsie Kibler, Piper Lawrence, Gemma Messenger and Reagan Smith.
The Audrey II puppets were created by Jacob Ward with additional detailing by Maja Kibler, and Zachery Johnson is the puppeteer.
“Little Shop of Horrors” will be staged at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday through June 28 at Trinity Playhouse, 234 E. Lincoln Way, Lisbon.
