YSU offers art camp

The Youngstown State University Department of Art will host its first Summer Art Camp in June at Bliss Hall.

Designed for students ages 13 to 18 entering grades 9 to 12, the camp will provide hands-on studio experience in painting, printmaking, photography and graphic design.

Throughout the week, students will receive instruction and personalized feedback from college-level art faculty in a workshop-style format that encourages experimentation and creative growth.

In addition to developing studio skills, participants will have the opportunity to connect with peers who share similar interests and gain insight into what it means to study art at the collegiate level.

The camp will conclude with an exhibition of student work in a YSU gallery, giving participants a meaningful opportunity to present their accomplishments to family and peers.

The camp will run from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 22 to 26.

The cost is $325 for the week and includes lunch each day.

The registration deadline is June 5.

To register or for more information, go to ysu.edu/artcamp.

Starting at $3.23/week.
