Keith Sweat brings new jack swing to Powers

R&B singer Keith Sweat will perform Feb. 6 at Powers Auditorium.

Sweat has sold more than 25 million records worldwide and helped shape and define the new jack swing sound. His first six albums from 1987’s “Make It Last Forever” to 1998’s “Still in the Game” all sold at least a million copies, and the first five hit No. 1 on Billboard’s R&B albums chart.

His chart-topping R&B singles include “I Want Her,” “Make You Sweat,” “I’ll Give All My Love to You,” “Keep It Comin’,” “Twisted” and “Nobody.”

Sweat is an inductee into the Georgia Music Hall of Fame inductee and creator and host of the nationally syndicated radio show “The Sweat Hotel.”

Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Dec. 19 at the DeYor Performing Arts Center box office and through Ticketmaster. An online-only presale runs from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Thursday with the password: NOBODY.

Concertgoers also will have the option to upgrade to higher-price-level tickets with access to a VIP Pre-Party (6:00-7:45 PM) and VIP After-Party (10:00 PM-1:00 AM) inside the DeYor Performing Arts Center.
