Playhouse Youth Theatre stages Shakespeare
Playhouse Youth Theatre will perform the William Shakespeare comedy “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” this weekend.
Isa Foltz directs the comedy about four young lovers who get entangled in a series of mishaps and unexpected connections caused by a band of mischievous fairies and their enchanted love potions.
Show times are 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the Playhouse, 600 Playhouse Lane, Youngstown. Tickets range from $11 to $17 for adults and $6 to $11 for children ages 12 and younger and are available online at experienceyourarts.org and by calling 330-259-9651.
Fitch High School Drama Club finds a ‘Clue’
The Fitch High School Drama Club will stage “Clue” for two performances.
The play is based on the popular board game, which spawned a 1985 movie and multiple stage adaptations.
Show times are 2 and 6 p.m. Saturday in the high school auditorium, 4560 Falcon Drive. Tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for students and are available in advance at austintownschools.org or at the door before each performance.
Medici Museum hosts Fall Festival on Saturday
A Fall Festival is planned from 3 to 6 p.m. Saturday at Medici Museum of Art, 9350 E. Market St., Howland.
The inaugural event will include balloon art, pumpkin painting, trick or treating, a pop-up library provided by the Warren-Trumbull County Public Library, a dog costume contest and adoption event and live music by Humbles County.
Several food trucks — Baked by Watts, Taylor Made Treats, Baba Saj, The Chuck Wagon and Elena’s Candlelight — will be on site selling food and refreshments. Admission is free. For more information, go to medicimuseum.net.
Park Avenue Brass plays at church in Warren
Park Avenue Brass will perform Sunday at Christ Episcopal Church, 2627 Atlantic St. NE, Warren.
“A Concert of Fan Favorites” will be played by the ensemble, featuring five northeast Ohio music educators.

Student director stages ‘Misery’ at Kent-Trumbull
The drama-thriller “Misery” will be staged for three performances at Kent State University at Trumbull, 4314 Mahoning Ave. NW, Champion.
The play, written by William Goldman and based on the novel by Stephen King, is directed by Emma Woodyard as her capstone project, and the cast features Raquel Allison, Nate Chapline and Johnathan Bahrey.

TCHS presents Trumbull County cemetery tour
Trumbull County Historical Society will have a bus tour of the county’s cemeteries Oct. 25.
This special tour will shine a light on the rich tapestry of local history through the lives — and final resting places — of the area’s early settlers, veterans and influential families. Local historians will bring these stories to life, sharing fascinating tales of Trumbull County’s heritage.
The tour will leave at 10 a.m. from 321 Mahoning Ave. NW, Warren, and run until 1 p.m. The cost is $50 and advance registration is required either online at trumbullcountyhistory.org or by calling 330-394-4653.
Witches Halloween Tea deadline is Friday
Howland Historical Society will have its annual Witches Halloween Tea with seatings at noon and 3 p.m. Oct. 26 at the Niles SCOPE Center, 14 E. State St.
Those attending are encouraged to come in costume and many come in fancy witch’s hats and dresses.

Madrigal dinner tickets on sale for Dec. 19 show
Tapestries of Ohio will present its annual Christmas Madrigals Dinner & Show at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 19 at Stambaugh Auditorium’s Jeanne D. Tyler Grand Ballroom, 1000 Fifth Ave., Youngstown.
The Lord and Lady of the castle will gather with other nobility of Medieval times to sing the songs and tell the story of the first Christmas. An authentic music, costume and dining experience will re-create the mood of a Madrigal celebration with a menu including braised beef tips in a red wine sauce, sage brown butter chicken breast, vegetables, salad, dinner rolls and baked apple blossoms.
