Sunday is Be My Neighbor Day at Eastwood Mall
Eastwood Mall will host Be My Neighbor Day from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday.
Presented by PBS Western Reserve and PNC, the family friendly event will include an appearance by Daniel Tiger from the children’s show “Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood.” Attendees can participate in a variety of activities that encourage neighborly connections, and community organizations will be on hand to provide valuable information to families.
Festivities take place at center court in the mall, 5555 Youngstown-Warren Road, Niles. Admission is free.
Holocaust scholar to speak on Gaza war
Norman J.W. Goda, one of the nation’s foremost Holocaust scholars, will speak on “Is Israel Committing Genocide? A Skeptical Approach” at Youngstown State University.
Goda, a professor of holocaust studies at the University of Florida and the author of several books, specializes in modern European history with a focus on the Holocaust, war crimes trials and 20th century diplomacy.
The program starts at 5 p.m. Monday in room 132 of DeBartolo Hall, and admission is free. It is co-sponsored by YSU’s Center for Judaic and Holocaust Studies and the Youngstown Area Jewish Federation.
Disney on Ice plans ‘Party’ in Youngstown
Disney on Ice, which traditionally comes to the Covelli Centre in December, will kick off the 2026 event schedule at the Youngstown arena.
“Mickey’s Search Party” — which features characters from “Moana,” “Coco,” “Aladdin, “Toy Story” and “Frozen” — will do seven shows at 11 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Jan. 2, 10:30 a.m. and 2:30 and 6:30 p.m. Jan. 3 and 10:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Jan. 4.
Tickets range from $27 to $102 and go on sale at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Covelli Centre’s Southwoods Health box office and through Ticketmaster.
Program on White House dinners planned
The Upton Association’s “First Wednesday” series will feature a program on “Dining with the Presidents, Presidential China & White House State Dinners.”
Janet Weir Creighton, who worked in the White House for President George W. Bush, will provide a behind-the-scenes peek at presidential legacies and how state dinners are staged.
The program starts at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Harriet Taylor Upton House, 380 Mahoning Ave. NW, Warren, with refreshments available at 9:30 a.m.

Christ Episcopal offers dinner, cabaret event
Tickets are on sale now for Dinner, Divas and Dessert — A Candlelight Cabaret at Christ Episcopal Church, 2627 Atlantic St. NE, Warren.
The Oct. 25 event includes a silent auction at 5:30 p.m., followed by a dinner prepared by Station Square Ristorante at 6 p.m. and a concert at 7 p.m. featuring the Christ Church Staff Singers & Friends performing Broadway favorites.
Tickets are $35 per person and seating is limited.
