The Youngstown Playhouse will provide 6,000 free tickets for students and families for performances during its 100th anniversary season through a new program called "Hearts for the Arts."
According to Playhouse Board President Dr. John Cox, "We are proud of the work we have done to entertain and educate our audiences through the years and want to continue reaching out to new audiences. The arts provide so much for the community, and we are thrilled to open our doors to more patrons."
Through "Hearts for the Arts," the Playhouse will distribute 150 tickets for each main-stage performance show during its 2024-25 season.
It also will distribute 200 tickets for each Playhouse Youth Theatre main-stage performance in addition to free performances of "Puffs, Or Seven Increasingly Eventful Years at a Certain School of Magic" and "The Lightning Thief" that each will be seen by 450 students.
The Playhouse is working with Youngstown City Schools, the Beatitude House, the Boys and Girls Club and local churches to help identify students and families that will benefit from the program.
Those who want to participate in the program should call the box office at 330-259-9651 and ask for "Hearts for the Arts" tickets.
