Westminster College is offering free tickets for police officers, EMTs, firefighters and first responders for its Celebrity Series concert featuring the New York Tenors.
According to Celebrity Series director Connie McGinnis, "Our first responders sacrifice so much for the safety and well-being of our country and community and we hope this small act of thanksgiving helps show our sincere appreciation and gratitude."
The group features Andy Cooney, Daniel Rodriguez and Christopher Macchio.
Cooney has been called "Irish America's Favorite Son" by the New York Times, and he has played sold-out concerts from New York's Carnegie Hall to Dublin's National Concert Hall.
Joining him will be Daniel Rodriguez and Christopher Macchio.
Rodriguez was a New York City police officer who first started attracting attention for his voice when he performed at events following the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. He has sung with the Boston Pops Orchestra and has appeared on "Late Show with David Letterman," "Oprah," "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" and "The Today Show."
Macchio is a classically trained tenor who studied at Manhattan School of Music and has toured throughout the United States and Europe. He has performed with New York City's Opera Nova Company and performed at the city's Columbus Day Parade.
The concert starts at 7:30 p.m. April 6 at Orr Auditorium, Westminster Drive, New Wilmington, Pa.
