LIBERTY -- The founding of the Youngstown Police Department's detective division will be the topic of the first William Holmes McGuffey Historical Society's Memories of a Lifetime program of 2024.
Traci Manning, curator of education for the Mahoning Valley HIstorical Society will be the guest speaker. She has degrees from Gettysburg College and Shippensburg University, and she spent six years working for the National Park Service at various Civil War parks before joining MVHS.
The program starts at 10 a.m. Jan 20 at Denny's Restaurant meeting room, 4020 Belmont Ave., Liberty. Admission is $10 for McGuffey members and $15 for non-members and includes refreshments and entertainment. Reservations are suggested and can be made by calling 330-726-8277.
