More than a half dozen sites in downtown Warren will feature entertainment and attractions for Warren Rotary's Opening Night 2024 on Sunday.
The New Year's Eve event will run from 6 to 9 p.m. A light show synchronized to music spanning more than 200 years will be presented at 6, 7 and 8 p.m. in Courthouse Square to celebrate the city's 225th birthday. DJ Tom Angelo will be playing music and making announcements for attendees throughout the evening on the square.
Several activities are planned at the SCOPE Center, 375 N. Park Ave., including the classic rock cover band Speed Limit, karaoke with costumed characters, kids crafts and a balloon drop. Visitors also can check out the Riverside Railroad Club's model train layout at the SCOPE Center.
Other entertainment includes comedian and magician Eric Thompson at the Darlene Lounge, 145 W. Market St.; Chosen Vessel worship band at First Presbyterian Church, 256 Mahoning Ave. NW; a Senior Showcase variety / talent show at Kinsman House, 303 Mahoning Ave. NW; and a string quartet at the Upton House, 380 Mahoning Ave. NW.
Tours of the Trumbull County Courthouse will be offered at 6:30 and 7:30 p.m. and led by Mick Wilson portraying Niles-born President William McKinley.
Admission is $10 with children ages 3 to 9 admitted for $5 and children 2 and younger admitted free. Wristbands good for admission to the different attractions and tickets for the fire pit raffle can be purchased at the Log Cabin during the event.
