Kent-Trumbull seeks submissions of student short film

Kent State University at Trumbull's Digital Media Production Center is looking for submissions from local students for its Student Short Film Festival.

Northeast Ohio students from preschool to college are invited to submit 15-second to 12-minute videos appropriate for a general audience. The deadline for submissions is Jan. 15, and the festival will be part of the center's grand opening Jan. 30 and 31. Winning entries will receive gift cards ranging in value from $30 to $300.

The center will provide opportunities for students to learn about the industry and acquire skills to promote themselves during and after college. Complete festival submission information is available at trumbull-satellite.com/student-short-film-festival.

Dana Chamber Orchestra plays fall concert on Sunday

The Dana Chamber Orchestra will perform 4 p.m. Sunday in Christman Hall at Stambaugh Auditorium, 1000 Fifth Ave., Youngstown.

The program will include Arcangelo Corelli's "Concerto Grosso," Op. 6 No. 8, Samuel Barber's "Adagio for Strings" and Gordon Goodwin's "Loose Connection II." It will close with Darius Milhaud's "La Creation du Monde," which was written 100 years ago.

Tickets are $8 for adults, $7 for senior citizens and free for children ages 12 and younger and YSU students, faculty and staff, and are available at
